Therapy You Can Use
Evidence-based and practical psychotherapy
At Mensana Collaborative, we focus on treating the whole you.
For Lasting Change
How can psychotherapy help?
Life is complicated. Let it be simpler with the right help. Psychotherapy provides a supportive, thoughtful space to understand your patterns, work through challenges, and develop new ways of responding that can lead to meaningful and lasting change.
Sometimes the ways we've learned to think, cope, communicate, or respond to difficult experiences don't work as well as they once did.
Therapy can help when anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, behavioral concerns, or longstanding patterns begin to interfere with daily life or keep you from moving forward.
Psychotherapy tailored to you
Mensana Collaborative offers individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy in Carmel, California, with telehealth psychotherapy available throughout California. Our approach is evidence-based and shaped by each client’s needs, age, circumstances, relationships, and goals.
Additionally, Mensana provides sexual orientation and gender-affirming psychotherapy for LGBTQIA+ adolescents and adults. We support clients navigating identity development, coming out, minority stress, gender identity and transition, family relationships, and faith-based trauma.
Insight leading to change
We begin by learning what brings you in and what you would like to work on. Together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and explore the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and experiences that may be contributing to the challenges you’re facing.
Individual therapy balances insight with practical change. As you develop greater awareness of the patterns that shape how you think, feel, and respond, we’ll work on evidence-based strategies and practical skills to help you manage difficult emotions, navigate challenges more effectively, and make changes that extend beyond the therapy room.
Duration: 60 minutes, including session and clinical documentation
Depending on each client’s needs, treatment may draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies, and family work.

His specialized training includes LGBTQ-Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Yale School of Public Health and the Family Acceptance Project at San Francisco State University. His clinical experience spans community mental health, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, trauma-focused services, and higher-acuity treatment settings. Most recently, he served as a therapist in a Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, providing individual, family, and group therapy as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Before becoming a therapist, Will spent nearly a decade as a high school English and Speech teacher, earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lindenwood University. His background as an educator continues to shape his work. "Understanding why we think, feel, and respond the way we do can make change feel more accessible. My experience in the classroom helps me translate complex psychological concepts into practical, understandable tools that clients can apply in everyday life."
I believe meaningful therapy begins with a collaborative relationship built on curiosity, authenticity, and respect. My goal is to create a space where clients feel genuinely understood while also being challenged to grow so we can build insight, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges with greater flexibility and self-compassion.
