We're Here to Help
If you have additional questions, please reach out to us at contact@mensanacollab.com.
Prospective patients can get in touch through email at contact@mensanacollab.com, or by calling our clinic at 831.293.7300. We provide a fifteen-minute free phone consultation to identify your needs and discuss how they can be met.
Your scheduled appointment includes time for the provider to fully evaluate, diagnose, and document. Diagnostic impressions and recommendations may include but are not limited to therapy, treatment planning, medication review, etc. Your provider will also use this time to document the appointment in your medical chart.
Additional necessary services outside of the appointment will be billed separately based on our fee schedule. This may include extended phone calls or email communications, writing assessments or letters, and coordinating with other professionals for continuity of care with your consent.
After the free 15-minute consultation, if you decide to work with us, we require an initial evaluation to create the best treatment plan for you and your family. Medications usually aren't prescribed at the first appointment and a follow-up visit is usually needed.
Children 12 and under initial evaluations consist of two 60-minute appointments, one with the guardian and the other with the guardian and child. Adolescents ages 13 to 17 and Adult initial evaluations include one 60-minute appointment. Medication usually isn't prescribed in the initial evaluation intake.
Based on the information the provider receives during the intake, the provider will collaborate with the patient in a follow-up appointment to put together a comprehensive treatment plan where medication will be prescribed if it is deemed appropriate.
All treatment plans and recommended follow-up appointments are tailored to a patient’s individual needs. We will do our best to set times that are convenient for your schedule.
Regular, prompt attendance is important. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you notify the office as soon as possible so that another patient may use the time slot.
Late arrivals will be charged the full amount for their original appointment. All appointments not canceled 48 hours prior to the appointment time and all missed appointments will be charged the full fee for the canceled or missed appointment. Payment of the canceled or missed appointment fee is required before you will be allowed to schedule another appointment.
Urgent appointments are assessed on a case-by-case basis and will be attended to as soon as possible. Please note that Mensana Collaborative is not a crisis clinic. If needing immediate medical attention, please dial 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room for help.
Mensana’s refill policy is based on the following categories: advance notice, eligibility, appointment requirements, and specific medication. Detailed information about our policies will be provided at your first appointment and upon inquiry. Please allow 3-5 business days for refills to be processed.
Fees are specific to the type of appointment, therapy provided, and / or medical necessity. During your free initial phone consultation, the provider will review our fee schedule as well as recommendations for treatment.
We value our patients, and we want to provide you with the highest level of care. We’re glad you’re interested in taking an active role in your treatment and we look forward to supporting you on your journey.
We offer a variety of payment options and discounts to help you cover the cost of your mental healthcare. Payment options and discounts include the following:
Out-Of-Network Insurance Benefits:
Traditional insurance models control how a provider can diagnose, how a provider can bill, and what medication a provider can prescribe. At Mensana Collaborative, we believe in providing each patient with the best possible individual care uncontrolled by outside influences. Therefore, Mensana Collaborative operates out-of-network and does not accept payments directly from insurance companies.
Instead, we help you apply your insurance out-of-network benefits through our partnership with Mentaya. With Mentaya, we can submit your out-of-network claims through Superbills after you have paid for your appointment, and you receive the best potential reimbursement based on your insurance benefits. If you would like to use Mentaya, please speak with our staff and we will help you get an account set up. You can use our Mentaya Benefits Calculator to find out what out-of-network insurance benefits you have here: https://mentaya.com/checkbenefits/MENSANA-COLLABORATIVE-INVITE
Or, if you’d rather, you can submit Superbills directly to your insurance provider without going through Mentaya.
Please note that Mensana Collaborative has opted out of Medicare and is required to inform our patients who are covered under Medicare that our services cannot be submitted for reimbursement.
Payment Plans:
We offer payment plans based on individual patient needs. If you would like to set up a plan, please speak with our staff.
Discounts:
We offer a 10% discount to college students, military families, and perinatal patients. We also have a Sliding Fee Discount Program for families undergoing financial hardship. If you think you might qualify for any of these discounts, please speak with our staff and we will give you more information.
If you’d like to use any of these payment options, please notify us at the time of scheduling your appointment.
Payment is expected in cash, debit card, or credit card at the time of your appointment unless other prior arrangements have been made.
